New Heads We Dance Song "Work It Out" Ft. Little Boots

Leed’s retro-futurists Heads We Dance have released a b-side from their upcoming single “When the Siren Sounds” called “Work It Out” featuring a little lady who has been taking the world by storm, Little Boots! The track is a bit darker and more rock driven than a lot of their other stuff, but fear not, the synths are turned on high as they cruise past cymbal crashes and dance beats.

Heads We Dance also launched their new website where you can get Frankmusik’s remix of “Love in the Digital Age” and listen to some of their own mixes.

(New Music!) A Truly Beautiful Disaster Strikes Greece and London!

Gold seems to be a fashionable color for up and coming electro artists. First MSTRKRFT, then Heads We Dance, and now Truly Beautiful Disaster. The band is composed of one member from Greece and one from London. Combined they make the kind of electronica that makes me want to put on a cape and mask and fight crime with Hong Kong inspired impossible martial arts.

Heads We Dance Release New Single "Human Touch"!

The Leeds, UK synth pop group Heads We Dance has finally released their new single “Human Touch”, available now in limited 12″ and as a free download. The single roars to life with sirens in lending itself to the imagery of a “Metropolis” like retro-futurist city. Vocals are run through a razor sharp vocoder and diced to perfection in between hyper aggressive snares and mountains of fuzz bass, pausing only to tease you with a Daft Punk-like interlude before diving back into the mayhem. The B-side “You Are Never Alone With Model 21″ spotlights the velvety smooth vocals of Pierre as heavily phased riffs whiz by like hyper futuristic taxi cabs. If you’re a fan of the Human League, Daft Punk, Justice or just plain quality dance music “Human Touch” is for you.

Are You Lonely? Do You Have a Credit Card?

Heads We Dance is a fledging synth pop band hailing from Leeds, England. That place seems to be churning out several notable bands lately; like The Lodger and Dead Disco with whom Heads We Dance made their live debut with in 2006. Heads We Dance engineers dynamic synth pop that could easily lay waste to any dance floor. Their aesthetic includes inspiration from the work of Philip K. Dick, Fritz Lang’s “Metropolis”, love connections via the internet, and an occasional Robert Palmer shout out.

In fact the vocals and the clean blippy synths have the same earnest charm of Robert Palmer’s “Johnny and Mary“. “Love in the Digital Age” discusses relationships in the information age where love is only a click away with the line “Are you lonely? Do you have a credit card?”, giving the Palmer adage “I can’t sleep at night, I’m addicted to love” an unsettling new depth. “My Heart is Set on You” bounces with the stark determination of a resolute man in love while gliding on washes of sparkling keyboards. If you’re looking for something new to love in the digital age, Heads We Dance is for you. Better start looking for your credit card.
