Sportsday Megaphone’s New Video & Single "Meet Me in The Middle!"

Hugh Frost of Sportsday Megaphone has been busy! Not only does he have a fantastic new video that starts off all cutesy that warps into something that might make all you bunny lovers a little queasy, he has a whole new album called “So Many Colours, So Little Time” which is chock full of electro/synth-pop goodness. If that weren’t enough there’s also a cornucopia of remixes and one excellent cover available below.

Have a Very AZLTRON Thanksgiving!

Well, it’s that day again, the day to gather around with family and rub a long fork like utensil and a knife over a very dead piece of poultry. Pass the cranberry sauce ’cause Grandpa is going to tell you about the weather and the news. It might be time to start bracing yourself for an extended amount of time with your nuclear family. Time to find your zen, get in your happy place and endure the hot coals of superficial niceties. If you find all this togetherness a little awkward (Like Me), it’s also the day to trace your hand and turn it into a poorly rendered turkey! Check out this tom to the left! Pretty handsome eh? Anyway, I’ve composed a mix of entertaining Turkey-Day tunes. Enjoy!

Bikini

Filed under: Daft Punk,frankmusic,Plastic Operator,Sportsday Megaphone,the lk — AZLTRON @ 8:36 am

I recently had a fan of the blog leave a comment and a recommendation for the Montreal based based duo, Bikini. Their sound is right up my alley. Their cover of Feist’s “1234″ is very electronic but doesn’t overdo it, the normally cold vocoder sound, here, actually sounds gentle and sweet. Their original song “I Remeber Being Young” is reminiscent of Sportsday Megaphone and Frankmusic for its lo fi electro sound, vocal edits, and poignant nostalgic lyrics. Good pick anonymous.

Hugh Frost Strikes Again

Filed under: Operator Please,Sportsday Megaphone — AZLTRON @ 7:15 pm

Hugh Frost strikes again with another Sportsday Megaphone remix, this time its a vocoder laced synth propelled take on Operator Please’s “Get What You Want”. Vastly different than the raucous violin enhanced dance number but still very enjoyable.

We’re All Going To Die Alone, Happy Holidays!

Our Favorite U.K. producer Hugh Frost of Sportsday Megaphone has once again graced us with an excellent remix. This time, it’s not so manic and fun loving. He reshapes Malcolm Middleton’s depressing ballad into a depressing dance ballad. The vocoder does little to assuage my apprehension of dying alone, but it sure does sound neat.

Spotsday Megaphone Sports a Party Remix

Our friend Hugh Frost, also known as Sportsday Megaphone has once again graced us with another wild, jittery, electronic remix, this time of the Envelopes‘ track “Party”.

As a bonus here is the video for a track by Wax Stag entitled “Short Road” which was featured on Hot Chip’s DJ Kicks album.

Sportsday Thursday

Sportsday Megaphone is a one-man radical 8-bit pop party monster, driven by Hugh Frost, hailing from London, England. The sound of Sportsday Megaphone is an elixir of addictive Nintendo blips and squeals and matter of fact Streets style vocals. Just because the music is heavy on keyboards doesn’t mean that it’s all synthetic, there is an almost ever present guitar latent in the mix that drives each song. Like on the fantastic “Less and Less”, the gliding riffs kick off a number that sounds like Ratatat on coke inside a giant tiger costume. “One More Page” explodes with youthful vigor that’s equal parts heartfelt as it is completely nuts on keyboards. There’s a new 7 inch single due out in a few weeks, but until then here’s a new remix that Hugh did for UK band The Rumblestrips.
